New Project: AFM Services

by Joshua Reynolds in Announcements, Design, Development

JTech’s Montana website design team is developing a new website for AFM Services, a Santa Barbara, CA company providing repair, training and maintenance for atomic force microscopes built by Digital Instruments, Veeco, and Bruker. Atomic force microscopes provide advantages over electronic microscopes, such as the ability to show three-dimensional surface profile of the item being scanned.

The new AFM Services site will utilize modern web technologies and provide an entry point for universities and commercial enterprises with atomic force microscope systems that require advanced support or hardware support for an aging system. We’re excited to partner with AFM Services on their new website, and look forward to sharing the site when it’s ready to launch.

Social media can be integral to off-page optimization.
Social media can be integral to off-page optimization.
Last month we discussed on-page optimization, an important strategy to expand your website’s audience and improve organic search engine ranking by affecting your site’s relevancy for specific topics. This month we’re going to talk about off-page optimization, a much larger collection of SEO strategies used individually or collectively to help your website find a bigger audience by improving the popularity of your site’s content.

Inviting social interaction.

Many forms of off-page optimization are interactive (or social) in nature. Interactive optimization is the art and science of engaging with your customers and encouraging them to create links and activity that drive traffic to your website. We’ve written about some of these in past articles of the JTech Dispatch — using social media services such as Facebook, Twitter, Google+ or LinkedIn, publishing a blog, or spreading your message via video using services like YouTube or DailyMotion. Google and other major search engines measure your company’s social authority — the level of trusted activity associated with your company — and consider it when ranking your popularity in their search results. Using social media and interacting with your customers digitally can generate truly awesome results — and it requires your company to be dedicated to offering attractive unique quality content and encouraging that interaction.

Establishing a presence in your industry.

Going beyond efforts to create conversations with your customers and invite them to link back to your website, off-page optimization includes press releases, publishing articles in industry-specific publications, and fostering an active, cross-pollinating relationship with other businesses in your industry. This second, industry-oriented type of off-page optimization establishes your company as an active, trusted contributor to your industry and uses that authority to improve your standing in natural search results.

These are just a few of the possibilities for off-page optimization. JTech offers a Montana based Internet marketing and optimization service that carefully researches your industry, competitors, target markets and your website’s current performance for search rankings and customer reach. Our custom website marketing planning service is designed to create and deploy a cohesive digital strategy that is form-fitted to your company and website. Call us or email us today if you’d like our (SEO) help.

In conjunction with the latest iteration of the JTech website, JTech’s Bozeman Montana website development team created a new version of our custom framework — a powerful codebase that allows us to quickly develop advanced websites.

What does the framework do?

Whenever we start a new web development project, it begins with our framework. The framework makes it possible for us to build advanced websites with features that utilize the latest web standards quickly. In the latest iteration, this includes better support for smooth, animated interactions, improved performance on mobile devices, and support for responsive websites that work on devices of any size.

Another major enhancement is that we’ve taken complete control of the URL field. Our new websites will have clean urls (for example: jtechcommunications.com/about-us) instead of urls ending in .php or .html. In addition, new custom projects and updated websites for our existing clients can now link directly to slips such as this one: jtechcommunications.com/about-us/announcement-44.

We’ve modified our forms for improved error checking and improved dynamic loading on our new websites to exceed what was possible for older websites. We’ve implemented even better encryption for all stored data, to keep our client’s data secure. The overall effect for new projects is one of all-around enhancement.

The latest framework is an integral piece of how JTech’s Bozeman Montana website development team makes advanced websites — making online business even better.

Organic search results.
Organic search results.
Search engine optimization (SEO) is the art and science of improving a site’s visibility in natural search results – the rankings on Google, Bing or Yahoo not represented by paid advertisements.

SEO is a cornerstone of internet marketing and digital strategy — making sure that the people who are actively looking for your products and services find your business. Without search engine optimization or some amount of advertising, it has become difficult to effectively reach your audience online. JTech offers search engine optimization as part of our comprehensive digital strategy services.

Our search engine optimization service comes in two parts: on-page and off-page optimization. Both of these are informed by research into your target markets, key phrases used by your prospective demographics, and online competitors to your business.

On-page optimization is confined to your business’s website: finessing the site’s content and code so that it is easily indexed by search engines and editing content so that it is easily found by prospective customers searching within your market.

Off-page optimization has a much larger scope: It encompasses all methods of improving search visibility that are not addressed on the website itself. We’ll go into depth with the possibilities offered by off-page optimization in next month’s issue of the Dispatch.

Both forms of optimization are critical pieces of helping your business’s website rank well in natural search results. Our optimization service is a tool to ensure that your site is visible and relevant to those who should be finding it. Call us or email us today if you’d like our help optimizing your company’s site.

G Bar M is an agritourism destination, inviting guests to join them on horseback, checking the fences and herding cattle. Food from their kitchen is all grown within reach, including beef, pork, eggs, and vegetables all from the ranch — food that was never shipped on a truck before making it into the kitchen.

The new G Bar M website features immersive photography, warm colors and textures from the ranch, and a beautiful video taken at G Bar M. Prospective guests can make reservations at G Bar M, view the gallery, and learn more about life on the ranch. The website looks great whether your screen is large or small.
